Athlone Gymnastics Club

We have a very limited number of spaces available in our Teen fitness and gymnastics class. The class runs on a Friday evening from 6 to 8.00pm for a 12 week term starting on 6th December 2019.

No previous gymnastics experience is necessary for this class.

We have a very small number of places available in our adult fitness class (from age 18 upwards) in Term 2 starting on Thursday, 5th December for a 12 week term, running from 8.30-10.00pm. Please note: this is the only time we run this class.

This class is suitable for beginners as well as those with previous gymnastics experience.

Want the kids to get active over the holidays? What better way than to join us in either of our 2 day Camps running over the holidays!

This year we are running 2 x 2 Day Camps, open to members and non-members, boys and girls, from age 6 upwards.

Please click on the link for all the information. Please ensure you book the correct dates as we cannot switch camps or provide refunds once booked.

Our gymnasts are returning to the National Arena in Dublin over the weekend to compete in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Competition. Good luck wishes to Zara, Kate, Mia, Ciara, Nicola, Orlaith, Aoife, Caitlin, Barbara, Clíodhna, Gráinne, Rachel, Stephanie, Jenny, Tara, Orla, Sive, Niamh, Marsha, Clodagh, Aoibhinn, Mary, Jane, Emma, Ava, Ayla, Lucy, Aoibhinn, Ericka, Mya, Isla, Katie and Maeve. For some of these girls, it’s their very first time to compete in the National Arena, have the best time, do your best and most importantly enjoy the experience. We are very proud of all of the gymnasts taking part, we hope you all have a wonderful day.

Wishing Judy, Aimee, Keela and Sara continued progress in their recovery, we hope to see you all back in action very soon!

Please note that there are no classes on the following dates ONLY :-

• Friday, 25th October
• Tuesday 29th to Thursday 31st October (INCLUSIVE)

Saturday and Sunday classes run as normal over Mid Term but there are no classes on 9th and 10th November.

Bag Packers needed on 25th and 26th October for 2 hour slots from 10am to 6pm on both days in Dunnes Stores, Montree, Athlone. Please text your name and preferred time slot to 083 8333171 or email administrator@athlonegymnasticsclub.ie. All help is greatly appreciated.

If you are requesting a change in class time/day for your child for next term, and have not already contacted us, please note the deadline for this is 12th October. Whilst we cannot guarantee that we can facilitate all requests, we will try to accommodate as many as we can once we have received the request by email only to administrator@athlonegymnasticsclub.ie by 12th October.

We had a wonderful turnout of Volunteers for our 2 Flag Days in SuperValu on Friday and Saturday – Cathriona, Karin, Nicola, Trevor, Victoria, Maggie, Maura, Eimear, Trevor (again!) Sheila, Jackie, Sinead, Deirdre, Eabha, Mary, Orla, Rosalie, Mary, Tatiana, Eimear, Claire, Aisling, Bethany, Amanda, Natalia, Annemarie and Sarah, thank you all so much, we wouldn’t have a Club without Volunteers and we are very appreciative of every volunteer giving their time.

Many thanks to Tim and all the staff of SuperValu for allowing us to do this and all the customers who donated very generously to this fundraiser.

All parents/guardians/adult members are invited to attend the Club AGM on Monday, 21st October 2019 in the Athlone Springs Hotel, Monksland at 7.30pm.

The Club is run by a Committee of dedicated Volunteers, made up of parents of gymnasts,who give their time in a voluntary capacity to ensure that all the gymansts have a safe, progressive and fun environment to learn gymnastics from our experienced and committed coaches. Without volunteers we wouldn’t have this wonderful facility for our children.

Thank you to the parents who turned out to the Information Night last night, the dreadful weather didn’t deter you😊. There were some excellent suggestions which we welcome and will look at how we can integrate them over the coming months.
